Bastia striker sentenced for headbutt on PSG's Motta
Bastia striker Brandao has been sentenced to one month in prison and fined €20,000 for headbutting Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Motta.
Brandao claimed he had been insulted by Motta throughout the match, relating to a rape charge Brandao was cleared of in 2012.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said Brandao "should be suspended for life" after the incident.
Tom Williams of AFP and Jonathan Johnson of ESPN FC reported Thursday's verdict:

Blanc also calls Brandao's 1-month jail sentence & fine for headbutt on Thiago Motta "exaggerated."

Brandao also fined €20,000, but could have his sentence reduced and might not have to serve any time in prison.
